Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) is a Society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act (Act 12 of 1955). It is an autonomous nodal IT implementation agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala which provides managerial support to various initiatives of the Department.

KSITM's primary responsibilities include interfacing between the Government and the industry, interacting with potential investors, strengthening the IT / ITES industry base, holding promotional campaigns for hard selling the state, ICT dissemination to bridge the digital divide, E- Governance, Developing Human Resources for IT & ITES and advising the Government on policy matters.

Kerala State IT Mission is a team of professionals from the industry & the Government and is headed by the Director, with the Secretary-IT as the Chairman. The Governing body of KSITM is chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Govt of Kerala.

The Model Finishing School is a pioneering venture of the Government of Kerala, set up with the purpose of enhancing employability of qualified youths from the State of Kerala . Kerala, which is one of the most literate and education-friendly states of India , has no dearth of qualified hands, both in the technical and non-technical streams. The collective efforts put in by different stakeholders towards promoting education could be attributed to this achievement. In spite of this advantage, youths in Kerala face a definite lag when it comes to securing employment of choice, especially in the new-age technology enabled sectors. This perplexing mismatch has been a cause of concern to the Government, academicians and representatives of the industry and even well-wishers of the State. In remedying this problem, the Government of Kerala has set up the Model Finishing School to complete those components of learning that cannot be had from the traditional mode of learning.

IIITM-K will actively promote higher education and industry across Kerala and beyond through its IT facilitated education programs and services.
