Kerala University Now Fully Wired

University

The University of Kerala  has  introduced web-casting and video conferencing facilities , which would allow the Vice-Chancellor to  interact live with academics and officials on the  campus from his chambers.

A special room capable of seating up to 20 persons has been readied at the office of the credit and semester system at Karyavattom for this. The videoconferencing units at Palayam and Karyavattom are mobile devices which can be taken to any point on the campuses.

The webcasting facility will allow the campus-wide broadcast live or otherwise of events being held.  The webcasting would be done through the new website of the university —www.keralauniversity.ac.in — by making use of the Local Area Network at Karyavattom.

The webcasting of lectures given by academics of international repute  and  seminars which had inter-departmental relevance would  enhance  qualitative  teaching  and  learning in the university, and is an indication of the steps  taken in this technology driven era.
