KSEB to Launch Online Payment of Electricity Bills

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is all ready to launch an online payment facility for electricity bills.

The State Minister for Electricity, Aryadan Mohammed, will launch the online payment facility on July 06, 2011.

In its first phase, KSEB will offer this facility to High Tension and Extra High Tension (HT/EHT) customers. Regular domestic (LT) consumers will have to wait for some more time to avail this facility.

With the launch of the e-payment system, all HT/EHT consumers can pay their electricity bills through net banking and debit/credit cards. KSEB has tied up with IDBI Bank for the e-Payment Gateway facility.

Consumers can view online and take printouts of payment history details, pending bills, and service connection details like contract demand, security deposit, billing address, etc. They can also view their consumption analysis – detailed graphical analysis of power consumption based on various parameters like KVA, KWH, KVAR, etc. The consumers can avail the online services through the KSEB website. Consumers can also register their mobile numbers to receive SMS alerts regarding bill amount, due date, disconnection date, etc.

e- billing can help the consumers to pay their electricity bills without standing in the queue or going to KSEB or other office to pay the bill. Already we have cheque drop facility for bill payment. But online bill payment will help executives, professionals etc to pay their bills without spending time on it.
