A spoke of Infopark Kochi, Infopark Cherthala, is expected to become operational soon. The first company in the park will start functioning within a month. It is waiting to complete the formalities related to Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Out of the 66 acres of the Cherthala Infopark, 60 acres will be developed as SEZ.
About one lakh sq.ft. of the first information technology (IT) building at Cherthala Infopark is ready for allotment. When completed, the building will have a built up area of 2.40 lakh sq.ft. The remaining space will be readied within four to five months.
Infopark has attractive offers for clients who are interested in starting operations in the IT park at Cherthala.
Six plots of five acres each for IT and ITeS companies and co-developers, and nine acres for commercial applications have also been readied and are open for long-term lease.
The first phase development of the park is expected to generate about 1,400 jobs.
The first IT building will have four floors, including the ground floor. Companies can take up entire floors; space is open for multiple tenants as well.
Both plug and play space and warm shell space with basic facilities are on offer in the building.
Work on common infrastructure has been completed. This includes roads, 110 kV substation and water tank with a capacity of 12 lakh litres.
Land has been identified for a working women’s hostel with 170 rooms to accommodate up to 300 women and a day-care facility. The work on the hostel will start shortly. A guesthouse with 20 rooms is another facility planned.
Close proximity to Kochi is counted as one of the advantages of the Cherthala Park. Advantages of a city like Kochi at far lower price are one of the selling points. With just 30 km away from Kochi and 50 km from the Kochi International Airport, the park is well connected.
